讲座介绍：	Chinese herbs and medicine are commonly used in TCM to cure illness. In most cases, they also have been used in our daily life, knowingly or unknowingly, as a form of healthcare to strengthen our health or alleviate our uncomfortable symptoms encounter in our body such as excessive phlegm, heatiness, cough etc. In many cases, some of the herbs and medicine that you have tried may be effective on one occasion but on another occasion, they are either ineffective or could worsen your symptoms. This course is the first part of commonly used Chinese herbs and medicine. By understanding the properties of the herbs and medicine, you will know better what to use, when to use and how to use them in an effective matter. One herb or medicine that is effective on one person may not necessary be effective on another person. Besides due to the different causes of disease, individual body constitution also plays a part. During the course, besides learning the properties of the herbs and medicine, you will also have the opportunity to taste some of the prepared herbs and medicine. You will have the opportunity to examine how simple formulas are built up using individual herbs. The herbs and medicine to be introduced during the course will be those that you can easily get them off the shelf.
