DOCTOR OF MEDICINE (TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE) (CHINESE) (JOINTLY CONDUCTED WITH GUANGZHOU UNIVERSITY OF CHINESE MEDICINE)

To train a TCM related professional with a solid foundation of Chinese medicine treatment, practical skills and creative ability, so as to promote the development of Chinese medicine.

Qualification:

Graduate students who have passed all course examinations and their doctoral dissertation will be awarded a doctorate in medical science in the corresponding discipline by the Degree Evaluation Committee of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

TCM Medical Case Study

30

Compulsory subject. Based on TCM theory, select the famous ancient TCM medical record references, under the guidance and explanation of the lecturers/tutors, allow the students to master the technique of examining, assessing and organizing TCM Medical Records.

Clinical Application and Theory of Seasonal Febrile Diseases

Compulsory subject. Mainly cover the Shanghan Lun six meridians syndrome differentiations system and clinical application of the different classes of formula, explain the application methods, in order to strengthen the students’ clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment.

Clinical Application and Characteristic in Acupuncture Treatment

Compulsory subject. Mainly focus on the clinical application of commonly used unique acupuncture techniques principles, methods, indications and contraindications.

Characteristics Therapy of TCM Internal Medicine

Compulsory subject. Mainly focus on the common Chinese medicine unique treatment principles, methods, indications and contraindications.

Professional Subject

Determine by lecturers/tutors

Compulsory subject. Mainly focus on the professional degree dissertation topics and the study of the new progress and results of the clinical diagnosis and treatment, cultivate innovative thinking and creative ability of the students.

Dissertation

No specific course hours

Compulsory subject. Under the guidance of lecturers/tutors, research a wide range of local and international literature, analyze and complete a literature analysis. Under the guidance of lecturers/tutors, complete an independent research paper. Note that the thesis should take into account the development of the discipline, must be innovative and relevant to the local context.
