DIPLOMA IN HEALTHCARE TUINA (MANDARIN)
Course objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand the fundamental theory of TCM, meridian theory, basic human anatomy knowledge, principles of healthcare Tuina, master the Tuina contraindications, master the common Tuina manipulation skills, familiarise with scraping, cupping, and other common traditional physiotherapy skills, master the basic principles of TCM healthcare and basic healthcare rehabilitation methods. The course enable one to master both the healthcare Tuina theory and skills, allowing one to be proficient in healthcare Tuina manipulation basic skills and to be a qualified healthcare Tuina professional.
Entry Requirement:
(1)GCE ‘O’Level (3 subjects passed) or equivalent or higher; OR
(2)Minimum secondary one with at least 3 subjects passed, and obtained Certificate in Basic Theory of TCM; OR
(3)Primary school leaving certificate with at least 1 year working experience in healthcare Tuina.
Language Proficiency: Pass in Chinese at Secondary one.

How to determine individual body constitution, master the healthcare based on body constitution, emotion, fitness exercise, daily lifestyle, diet and other practical methods.

TCM Tendon Injury Physiotherapy Theory

Scraping, cupping, moxibustion and TCM physiotherapy skills. Disinfection of cupping and tools and the prevention of cross-infection of skin diseases. Common soft tissue injury Tuina therapy.

Tuina Healthcare on Common Discomfort Disease

Tuina healthcare techniques on common discomfort disease (E.g. headache, nasal obstruction, head tightness, frontal soreness, shoulder soreness, chest distress, upper limb pain, fatigue lumbar pain, back pain, loss of appetite, lower limb soreness, heel pain, mental fatigue, insomnia), combined with training and group practice to observe and master the skills.
