On the morning of 2 May 2026, our College held the student orientation for the incoming cohort of Certificate in Basic Theory of TCM and Certificate in TCM Assistant (English) students. This round, we were pleased to welcome around 30 self-motivated adult learners who were excited to embark on their TCM learning journey.
The orientation began with an introduction of the College and staff-in-charge, an overview of school policies, as well as course requirements, which were delivered by the Head of the Centre of Continuing Education (CCE), Ms Eleanor Chua. This was followed by a round of self-introductions by the students, showcasing a diverse range of interests such as gardening, Qigong, and cooking. Despite their varied backgrounds, all shared a common passion for learning Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for personal enrichment and the betterment of health for their loved ones.
This year marks the 14th intake since the inauguration of the Certificate in Basic Theory of TCM and Certificate in TCM Assistant English courses in 2012. Throughout the course, students will acquire a wide range of knowledge and practical skills, including TCM fundamentals, herbal studies and decoctions, TCM dietetics, acupoints, Tuina and acupressure, as well as clinic management.
